Can you state why some areas of the brain and spinal cord are gray and some are white?

The white matter of brain and spinal cord is due to the presence of bundles of axons coated with myelin.
The gray matter of the brain is due to the presence of neural cell bodies, axon terminals, dendrites and nerve synapsis.
