Explanation

Pollen kitt is made up of carotenoids or flavonoids. It is yellow coloured or orange and is contributed by the tapetum. It forms a thick viscous coating over the pollen surface forming an oily layer. It attracts insects and protect the pollen from damage due to UV radiation.
