Explain the basic concepts involved in plant tissue culture.

The basic concepts involved in plant tissue culture include totipotency, differentation, re-differentation and dedifferentation.
Totipotency: This in the property of plant cell which have the genetical potential to give rise to a complete plant in the artifical medium.
Differentaton: It is process by which cells become specialized in form and function, through structural and biochemical changes,
Redifferentation: In this process the differentiated cells transform into another type of cell. For example the process of formation whole plant from callus tissue.
Dedifferentation: It is the phenomenon of the reversion of mature cells to meristematic cells. The living plants or tissue have the capacity both redifferentation and dedifferentation and this phenomenon is known as totipotency.
