Millets are variety of very small edible seeds, originally cultivated by ancient people of Asia and Africa. They are glutan free and have less glycemic index.
Their types are as follows.
(a) Finger millet - Eg: ragi.
(b) Pearl millets - Eg: sorgam.
(c ) Minor millets:
(i) Foxtail millet - Eg: Setaria italica
(ii) Kodo millet - Eg: Paspalum scrobiculatum.
