A male honey bees has 16 chromosomes where as its female has 32 chromosomes.

The males of drones of honey bee are developed from haploid unfertilized eggs and the chromosome number is 16. Where as the female or queen is developed froma fertilized egg (zygote), in which the chromosome number is diploid i.e. 32 numbers.
