Testes are paired male sex organs lying in the scrotum, which hangs outside the abdominal cavity, because viable sperms cannot be produced at normal body temperature. The scrotum is placed outside the abdominal cavity to create a temperature `2 - 3^(@)C` lower than the normal internal body temperature. Thus the testes are placed in the scrotum, which acts as a thermo regulator for better spermatogenesis.
