The Uterus is otherwise called as womb, which is inverted pear shaped structure. It is a hollow thick walled and highly vascularized structure lying between urinary bladder and the rectum in the pelvic cavity. The body of the uterus occupies the major portion and the funds is the rounded region superior to it. Cervix is the narrow opening of uterus into the vagina. The external orifice and internal orifice through which the cervical canal opens communicates with vagina and with the uterus respectively. The birth canal is formed by the cervical canal and vagina.
