Normally STDs are transmitted from person to person during intimate sexual contact with infected partner. But infections like Hepatitis B and HIV are carried out sexually as well as by sharing infusion needles, surgical instruments etc., with infected people, blood transfusion from infected person or from infected mother to baby.
