Explain the mode of sex determination in honeybees.

Haplodiploidy type of sex determination is seen in honey bess. In this type the number of sets of chromosomes received by an offspring decide the sex of the offspring . In honey bee, the fertilized eggs develop into females and unfertilized eggs develop parthenongenetically into males In this the males have haploid number of chromosomes while the females have diploid number of chromosomes and hence the name haplodiploidy system os sex determination .
