Wine is made through a process of fermentation of grape juice. Saccharomyces cerevisiae is responsible for the fermentation of grape juice into alcohol. Red wine and white wine are the two types of wine. The juice of either white or black grapes without their skin and stem is used for the preparation of white wine.
