AB is a wire segment of uniform resistance per unit length. Plot the variation of potential difference with the wire if the contact point C is moved from A to B. If `R_(AB) = 20 Omega` and `L _(AB) = 1` m, find the value of `V_(AC)`. (Take, i =1 A)

Here , resistance `R_(AB) = 20 Omega`
length `L_(AB) = 1 m`
Now , resistance per unit length `= (20)/(1) Omega//m`
` = 20 Omega//m`
Let length of AC is x.
Then , resistance of AC = r = 20x `Omega`
Now , potential difference across
`AC = i(20x)`
`rArr " " V_(AC) = 20 x`
`rArr V_(AC) = r`
So , graph is shown as below
