An odd of stones lie along a straight path, the distance between any two consecutive stones being 10 m. The stones are to the collected at the place where the middle stone lies. A man can carry only one stone at a time. He starts carrying the stones beginning from the extreme stone. If he covers a path of 3 km, how many stones are there ?

A small stone of mass 200 g is tied to one end of a string of length 80 cm . Holding the other end in hand , the stone is whirled into a vertical circle What is the minimum speed that needs to be imparted at the lowest point of the circular path , so that the stone is just able to complete the vertical circle ? what would be the tension at the lowest point of circular path ? (Take g = 10 m//s^(2) ) .

A stone is allowed to fall from the top of the tower 100 m high and at the same time another stone is projected vertically upwards from the ground with a velocity of 25ms^ -1 . Calculate when and where the two stones will meet ?

Two stones are thrown up simultaneously from the edge of a cliff 200 m high with initial speeds of 15 m s^-1 and 30 m s^-1 . Verify that the graph shown in Fig. 3.27 correctly represents the time variation of the relative position of the second stone with respect to the first. Neglect air resistance and assume that the stones do not rebound after hitting the ground. Take g = 10 m s^-2 . Give the equations for the linear and curved parts of the plot.

A stone thrown horizontally falls on the ground after 0.5 second at a distance of 5m from where it was thrown. What angle was formed by the trajectory of the stone with the ground? (g=10ms^(-2))

Two inclined frictionless tracks, one gradual and the other steep meet at A from where two stones are allowed to slide down from rest, one on each track (Fig. 6.16). Will the stones reach the bottom at the same time? Will they reach there with the same speed? Explain. Given 61 = 30^@ , theta_2 = 60^@ , and h= 10 m, what are the speeds and times taken by the two stones ?

A stone thrown horizontally with velocity u, falls on the ground after 0.5 second at a distance of 5m from where it was thrown. The velocity of the stone 0.5s later is 3u/2 What was the initial velocity?

In a development plan of a city, a contractor has taken a contract to construct certain houses for which he needs building materials like stones, sand etc. There are three firms A, B, C that can supply him these materials. At one time these firms A, B, C supplied him 40, 35 and 25 truck loads of stones and 10, 5 and 8 truck load of sand respectively. If the cost of one truckload of stone and sand are Rs 1200 and 500 respectively, then find the total amount paid by the contractor to each of these firms A, B, C separately.

A small stone, of mass 0.2 kg, tied to a massless, inextensible string, is rotated in vertical circle of radius 2 m. if the particle is just able to complete the vertical circle, what is its speed at the highest point of its circular path? How would this speed get effected if the mass of the stone is increased by 50%? (Take g = 10 ms^(-2) )
