A motorboat starts from rest and moves with uniform acceleration, if it attains the velocity of `15 m//s` in 5s, calculate the acceleration and the distance travelled in that time.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Initial velocity, u = 0,
final velocity, v = 15 m/s, time, t = 5 s.
Acceleration = a = ?
From the first equation of motion
`a=(v-u)/(t) =(15-0)/(5)=3 m//s^(2)`
