Determine the current that will flow when a potential difference of 33 V is applied between two ends of an appliance having a resistance of `110Omega`. If the same current is to flow through an appliance having a resistance of `500Omega`, how much potential difference should be applied across its two ends?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`V=33 V and R = 110 Omega`
In the first case,
`I = (V)/(R ) =(33)/(110)`
`therefore I = 0.3 A`
Current flowing through the appliance =0.3 A
In the second case,
`I = 0.3 A, R = 500 Omega`
`V=IR = 0.3xx500 V=150 V`.
The required potential difference between its two ends = 150 V
