How are water and minerals transported in plants?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Water and minerals are transported through xylem cells from soil to the leaves. The xylem cells of roots, and leaves are interconnected to form a conducting channel. The root cells take ions from the soil. This creates a different between the concentration of ions of roots and soil Therefore, there is a steady movement of water into xylem

osmotic pressure is formed and water and minerals are from one cell to the other cell due to osmosis. The continuous loss of water takes place due to transpiration. The continuous movement of water and mineral molecules remain and transportation of water and minerals place.
