Why are traits acquired during life-time of an indicidual not inherited?

The germ cells of sexually reproducing populations made in sppecialised reproductive tissue .The acquired traits cannot the DNA of the germ cells . Therefore acquired traits cannot be inherited over generations during thhe lifetime of an individual .
