There are 23 pairs of chromosomes .Most human chromosomes have material and a paternal copy . We have such pairs . These pairs contain half chromosomes from other and half from father . One pair is called sex chromosomes .At the time of sex determination , the egg cell with the sperm cell which are haploid to form zygote .orgote is diploid which contains 23 chromosomes from other and 23 from father . in this way , an equal genetic contribution of male and female parents is ensured in the progeny .
