Two clocks are set correctly at 9 a.m. on Monday. Both the clocks gain 3 minutes and 5 minutes respectively in an hour. What time will the second clock register if the first clock which gains 3 minutes in an hour shows the time as 27 minutes past 6 p.m. on the same day ?

According to the question

First clock gains = 3 minutes per hour
Second clock gains = 5 minutes per hour
So, the difference in minutes between these two clocks in one hour = (5 - 3) minutes = 2 minutes.

So, the first clock gains in 9 hours = `(9 times 3)` minutes.
