Why are the plants raised through micropropagation termed as somaclone? Mention two advantages of this technique

(i) The plants produced by micropropagation are genetically identical to the original plant from which they are grown, so they are called somaclones.
(ii) Advantages of this technique are
(a) More number of plants can be produced in a short time
(b) Disease free plants can be developed from diseased plants. Also seedless plants can be multiplied.
