Explanation

The formation of dormant forms of bacteria is known as sporulation. Some bacteria produce non-motile spores, such as conidia (eg, Streptomyces), oldiospores (e.g. Actinomyces), sporangiospores, endospores, etc under unfavourable conditions.
Under favourable environmental conditions, these spores germinate and vegetative cell comes out and grows.
