A ball is dropped from a balloon rising up with a velocity of 50 m/s. When the ball is dropped the balloon was at a height of 100 m. Find the time taken by the ball to reach the ground.

`(5+3sqrt(5))s`

`s = 100 m`
` u = -50 m//s`
` a= 10 m//s^2`
`t = ? `
`implies 100 = -50t + 1/2 xx 10 xx t^2`
` implies 5t^2 - 50t – 100 = 0 `
`= t^2 -10t - 20 = 0`
`implies (10 + 6sqrt(5))/(2) =5 + 3sqrt(5)`
