A thermally insulating cylinder has a thermally insulating and frictionless movable partition in the middle, as shown in the figure below. On each side of the partition, there is one mole of an ideal gas , with specific heat at constant volume, `C_v=2R`. Here, R is the gas constant. Initially, each side has a volume `V_0` and temperature `T_0`. The left side has an electric heater, which is turned on at very low power to transfer heat `Q` to the gas on the left side. As a result the partition moves slowly towards the right reducing the right side volume to `V_0/2` . Consequently, the gas temperature on the left and the right sides become `T_L` and `T_R`, respectively. Ignore the changes in the temperatures of the cylinder, heater and the partition.
Value of `T_R/T_0`

For one mole of an ideal gas (C_(p) and C_(v) are molar heat capacities at constant presure and constant volume respectively)

An ideal gas has a specific heat at constant pressure C_p=(5R)/(2) . The gas is kept in a closed vessel of volume V_0 at temperature T_0 and pressure p_0 . An amount fo 10p_0V_0 of heat is supplied to the gas. (a) Calculate the final pressure and temperature of the gas. (b) Show the process on p-V diagram.

One mole of monoatomic gas is mixed with one mole of a diatomic ideal gas. The molar specific heat of the mixture at constant volume is ___________________.

One mole of an ideal monoatomic gas undergoes a process as shown in the figure. Find the molar specific heat of the gas in the process. R is a gas constant.

C_(v) denotes the molar specific heat of a gas at constant volume and gamma is the adiabatic constant, then the universal gas constant R is given by
