When blue coloured `CuSO_(4)`, crystals is heated, it gives a white amorphous solid. This white solid is

A

`CuSO_(4) .H_(2)O`

B

`CuSO_(4)`

C

Cuo

D

`CuCO_(3)`

The correct Answer is:
B

`CuSO_(4) + 5H_(2)O overset(Delta) to CuSO_(4). 5H_(2)O`
Copper sulphate crystals, which seem to be dry contain water of crystallisation. When we heat the crystals, this water is removed and the salt turns white. If you moisture the crystals again with water, you will find that blue colour of crystals reappears.
