In a family, a couple has a son and a daughter. The age of the father is three times of his daughter and the age of the son is half of his mother. The wife is nine years younger to her husband and the brother is seven years older than his sister. What is the age of the mother?

The correct Answer is:
D
Let the age of the mother = x years
So, the age of the son = `x/2` years
Then, the age of the duaghter = `(x/2 - 7)` years
And the age of the father = `3(x/2 -7)` years
According to the question `3(x/2 - 7) - x = 9`
or `(3x)/2 - 21 - x = 9`
or `(3x - 2x)/(2) = 30`
or `x/2 = 30`
or `x = 60`
Therefore, the age of the mother = `x = 60` years.
