The correct Answer is:
D

Let the initial number of marbles both had = x marbles.
Then, after sometimes
Jeewan = `(x + 20)` marbles
So, Ashish = `(x - 20) ` marbles
Later, Jeewan loses `(2/3)` of `x + 20 `
i.e., `(2/3) xx x + 20` marbles
So, Ashish gained `(x – 20) + (2/3) (x + 20) `marbles.
which is equal to 4 times of Jeewan.s marbles but now Jeewan has only`1/3 (x + 20) ` marbles
So, by comparing we get
`x - 20 = 2/3 (x + 20)`
or `x - 20 = (2x)/3 + 40/3`
or `x - (2x)/3 = 40/3 + 20`
or `x/3 = (40 + 60)/3 = 100/3`
or, `x= 100.`
Therefore, the initial number of marbles both had = x= 100 marbles.
