The correct Answer is:
B

By analysing the given information, we get
`A lt 3B. ….(i)`
`C gt B. …..(ii)`
`D = C-B ….(iii)`
`[because C gt B]`
`A=3D (iv)`

Chirag (C) `overset("buys")rarr` a Jacket `overset("for")rarr` Rs 1000.
[`because` Chirag (C) borrowed Rs 300 from Ashok.]
So, Chirag (C) `overset("had atleast")rarr` Rs (1000 - 300) – Rs 700.
Bashir (B) `overset("buys")rarr` a Sweater `overset("for")rarr` Rs 600.
[`because` Bashir (B) borrowed Rs 100 from Ashok.]
Bashir (B) `overset("had atleast")rarr` Rs (600 - 100) = Rs 500.
So, `A lt 3 xx` Rs. 500 or 1500. [From (i)]
[`because` Ashok (A) `overset("buys")rarr` 3 shirts `rArr` 3 `xx` Rs 200 `rArr` Rs 600.]
So, Ashok (A) `overset("had atleast")rarr` Rs (600 + 300 + 100) = Rs 1000.
By elimination, we get
Deepak (D) `overset("buys")rarr` a Shawl `overset("for")rarr` Rs 400.
From (iv), we get
`A=3 xx` Rs 400=Rs 1200.
Therefore, Deepak (D) `overset("buys")rarr` a shawl.
