What is the measure of strength of an acid and base?

Strength of an acid or base is measured with pH scale.
pH scale was introduced by Sorensen. The range of pH scale is from 0 to 14
If `pH lt 7`, the solution is acid
If `pH gt 7`, the solution is base.
If pH=7 the solution is neutral
