Platelets play an important role in coagulation of blood. No blood coagulation would take place in the absence of platelets. This would take place in the absence of platelets. This would be a dangerous situation, in case of an injury. No blood coagulation would resuld result in excessive blood loss and can even prove lethal for the person.
