The correct Answer is:
D

It helps in absorption and upward movement of water and minerals from roots to leaves.
(ii) It prevents the plant parts from heating up.
Transpiration throught stomata creates a transpiration pull in the underlying vascular tissue. This helps in pulling the water column and thus facilitates ascent of sap in plants. Furthermore, transpiration is a way through which palnts get rid of excess water. So, transpiration is important for plants transpiration halps in the absorption and upward movement of water and minerals dissolved in it from roots to the leaves. It also helps in temperature regulation. The effect of root pressure in transport of water is more important at night. During the day when the stamata are open, the transpiration pull becomes the major driving force in the movement of water in the xylem.
