Evolution.s progressive trend seems to be more and more complex in body designs (or morphological structures), and has emerged overtime, e.g., immense diversity and increasing complexity is seen in body size, form and structure from nonchordates to chordates. But at the molecular level, these diverse type of organisms exhibit unbelievable similarity, e.g., the chemical composition of DNA is basically same in all living organisms except for differences in the sequence of nitrogenous bases. Other biomolecules like RNA, proteins, etc., also show remarkable similarity in all organisms.
Morphological structures are those structures (in an organism) which can be easily seen by us. Molecular structure, as the name suggests, are at molecular level. We know that various biomolecules are required to make an organism. What so ever diversity we see everywhere is because of diversity in morphological structure. Life began as simple forms, as unicellular organisms. Progressively, it evolved into many complex organisms. Therefore, it can be said that morphological structures show the least stability.
Though, when we look at the molecular level all the organisms are made up of same biomolecules. DNA, protein, lipid, carbohydrates, etc. are present in all organisms. The structure of DNA is same in every organism, although the number of DNAs varies from one organism to another. Regardless of the type of organism, a DNA molecule or a protein molecule would have the same structure. Hence, it can be said that molecular structures show great stability as compared to morphological structures.
