Explain how, offspring and parents of organisms reproducing sexually have the same number of chromosomes?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In sexually reproducing organisms, male and female gametes/reproductive cells with only half the number of chromosomes (as in the parent cell) are produced. During fertilization, when male and female gametes fuse to give rise to a zygote, original number of hromosomes are restored.
