Is water conservation necessary ? Give reasons.

Explanation

Out of the total water available on earth only 1% is fresh water that can be used by the humans. Rest of the water is not usable as either it is salt water or locked up in permanently frozen ice. Fresh water available for utilisation is sufficient to meet the needs of human beings. However, due to its uneven distribution, fluctuations in rainfalls and high wastage, many parts of the world are facing chronic problem of water shortage. While water is constantly being recycled through the earth water cycle, people are using water faster than it can be replenished. Therefore, it is important that we use our water wisely and not waste it.
