What is the role of the brain in reflex action?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Reflex actions are the immediate response to the stimulus without thinking for long. The sensory nerves present on sense orgáns receive stimulus and signal is transmitted to the spinal cord and the signal is reverted to the nerves that move the muscles for action. Such a connecting pathway of signal transmission from the nerves and responding into an action is known as reflex arc. Reflex action is processed by spinal cord but the information helps the brain to record this event and memorise it for future use.
