How do auxins promote the growth of a tendril around a support?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The plant produces auxin at the tip of a shoot, root and also at the tip of tendrils. It helps the cell grow when a tendril comes in contact with a support , auxin stimulates faster growth of the cells on the opposite side. That is why the tendril forms a coil around the support.
