What happens at the synapse between two neurons?

Text Solution

When an electrical impulse reaches the end of the axon, it causes the axon bulb to release a chemical which diffuses across the synapse and stimulates the dendrites of adjacent neuron. These dendrites in turn send electrical signals to their cell body to be carried along the axon.
