The reaction between phosphoric acid and calcium hydroxide forms calcium phosphate salt. Even though calcium hydroxide is a weaker base, but to some extent, stronger than phosphoric acid. Therefore, this phosphoric acid does not neutralise calcium hydroxide completely. Thus, calcium phosphate present in tooth enamel is basic in nature.
