The acid that ionises completely in aqueous solution, thus producing a high concentration of ions, is called a strong acid, e.g., HCI, etc. Weak acid ionises only partially in aqueous solution of same molar concentration provides a much smaller concentration of `H_(3)O^(+)` ions and thus it produces ions as well as molecules, e.g., acetic acid, carbonic acid.
Strong acids - Hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid and nitric acid
Weak acids – Citric acid, acetic acid and formic acid
