A tank is situated at a height of 60 m from a pond. The capacity of the tank is `20 m^3`. If this tank is completely filled by a pump from the water of pond in 3 h 16 min then what is the power of pump?

A

2000 W

B

3000 W

C

4000 W

D

1000 W

The correct Answer is:
D

Mass of water, m = Dimension `xx` Volume
`= 20 xx 10^3 kg`
and `t = 3h 16 "min"`
`= 196 "min" = 196 xx 60 s`
According to formula ,
`P = W/t = (mgh)/t`
`= (20 xx 10^3 xx 98 xx 60)/(196 xx 60) = 1000 W `
