Consider the situation shown in figure. If the current I in the long straight wire xy is increased at a steady rate the induced current in loop A and B will be

A

Clockwise in A and anticlockwise in

B

Anticlockwise in A and clockwise in

C

Clockwise in both A and B

D

Anticlockwise in both A and B

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Magnetic field in A will be outward and in B it will be inward, given by right hand thumb rule. So to oppose increase in magnetic field in loop in respective direction current induced will be clockwise and anticlockwise respectively.
