The correct Answer is:
A

Case I : It is an example of sex-linked recessive disease. The sex-linked inheritance follows criss-cross inheritance where father does not pass the sex-linked allele of a trait to his son. The same is passed to the daughters from the where it reaches the grandson. In the given case, the mother is affected, father is normal and sons are always diseased (just as mother) Therefore, X-linked recessive allele is being expresses from the mother to the sone. The recessive allele expresses itself in males because Y chromosome does not carry any corresponding allele. So, mother who is homoygous for the recessive trait, transfers the trait to all the sone
Case II : Here both sone and daughters have the possibility of getting disease thus the gene is autosomal. if we consider this gene dominant then there are two possibilities

Possibility 1 can match with he given case. If we consider the gene for the disease to be recessive then there are two possibilities :

Possibility 2 match with the given case. But if we look at options, option (a) is best suited regarding both the cases.

For sound waves, the Doppler formula for frequency shift differs slightly between the two situations: (i) source at rest, observer moving and (ii) source moving, observer at rest. The exact Doppler formulas for the case of light waves in vacuum are, however strictly identical for these situations. Explain why this should be so. Would you expect the formulas to be strictly identical for the two situations in case of light travelling in a medium?

Read the following statements and select the correct ones. (i) Vaccine is a preparation (or suspension ) of a dead/attenuated pathogen of a disease which on inoculation ( or injection ) into a healthy person, provides temporary/permanent active immunity by inducing antibodies formation. (ii) Immunisation is the process by which the body produces antibodies against the vaccine preventable diseases through administration of specific vaccines. (iii) The principle of immunisation or vaccination is based on the property of 'memory' of the immune system. iv) If a person is infected with some deadly microbes to which quick immune response is required; in that case, we need to directly inject the performed antibodies or antitoxins e.g., in case of tetanus.
