The correct Answer is:
D

Turner's syndrome occur due absence of X chromosome. Individuals having a single X chromosome `2A+XO(45)` have female sexual differentiation but ovaries are rudimentary. Other associated phenotypes of this condition are short stature, webbed-neck, broad chest lack of secondary sexual characteristics and sterility. Thus, any imbalance in the copies of the sex chromosomes may disrupt the genetic information necessary for normal sexual development.

Three copies of chromosome-21 in a child with Down's syndrome have been analysed using molecular biology technology to detect any possible DNA polymorphism with reference to different alleles located onchromosome-2 1. Results showed that out of 3 copies 2 of the chromosomes of the child contain the same alleles ,as one of the mother's alleles. Based on this when did the non-disjunction event most likely occur?

Due to nondisjunction of chromosomes during spermatogensis, some sperms carry both sex chromosomes (22A + XY) and some sperms do not carry any sex chromosome (22A + O). If these sperms fertilise normal eggs (22A + X), what types of genetic disorders respectively appear among the offspring ?

(A): Trisomic condition of chromosome-21 results in Down's syndrome Reason (R): Mitotic or meiotic non-disjunction of sex chromosomes causes autosomal abnormalities.
