Explain the structure of a bacterial cell in brief.

Bacterial cell is a prokaryotic cell. Nucleus is not enveloped by a nuclear membrane.
It contains a single chromosome with DNA. Nucleolus is absent.
It does not possess membrane bound cell organelles. Mitochondria are absent.
The cell membrane consists of infoldings called mesosomes which help in respiration.
