Why do wrinkles appear on the skin with growing age?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Dermis loses both collagen and elastin, hence skin gets thinner and has trouble in getting enough moisture to the epidermis.
The fat in the sub-cutaneous layer that gives skin a plumpy appearance, also begins to degenerate, then the epidermis starts to sag and form wrinkles.
