Gametophyte: The dominant phase of life cycle in bryophytes which produces haploid gamates. T hese gamates unite to form zygote from which sporophytes arises.
Sporophyte: The diploid multicellular stage in the life cycle of plant which produces haploid spores that develop into gametophyte.
