The infected person should be isolated.
The stool and urine of the person should be collected in a closed container and disposed by burning or flushing.
Their attendants should disinfect their hands, and the clothing and bedding of the patient are required to be disinfected by boiling.
Insecticides should be sprayed for the prevention of flies.
Immunization by TAB vaccine lasts for 3 years.
Oral vaccines are also available to prevent typhoid.
