Usage of genetically modified crops has increased to greater extent in recent times. Explain.

Genetically modified crops are the ones with slight modification in their DNA using genetic engineering methods. Due to these slight modifications, they become resistant to pests, diseases or environmental conditions and finally give a better yield. Due to all these reasons, usage of genetically modified crops has increased to a larger extent.
