What is the reason behind drying the grains thoroughly after the production?

Cleaning of grains thoroughly and drying them in sunlight after that in shade is very important because there are certain factors like biotic and abiotic which result in loss of grains.
Biotic factors are insects, rodents, fungi mites, etc. Abiotic factors are moisture and temperature.
