What is composite fish culture?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Composite fish culture: It is farming of different types of fishes of compatible species having different feeding habits, in the same period.
It increases the productivity Combination of different fishes like rohu, catla, mrigal common carps and grass carps are reared in the same pond. The major problem here is the lack of pure fish seed for culturing. They do not compete for food as different parts of the pond are utilized for their feed. As most of the fish breed in monsoon, segregating the seed of different species becomes difficult.
