Oilcakes are used as the food for cattles. Why?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Oilcakes are the residual part of oil seeds after the extraction of the oil. Oilcakes are rich in protein and hence, are used as the food for cattle. Proteinaceous food helps in the growth of the cattle. Other than protein, they are the good source of calcium and vitamin `B_(12)` and thus, help in the improvement of the quality of milk. Vitamin `B_(12)` is required for cell growth, maturation and wool growth.
