Explain the anatomy and function of tongue.

Explanation

Tongue is a muscular organ inside the mouth cavity. It is covered with a moist tissue called mucosa which is pink in colour. Numerous taste buds are present on the surface of the tongue which help taste different types of food. Taste buds at different locations are responsible for different tastes.
